The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – ‘Yoshi’ first look clip released
Nintendo and Illumination have released a new clip from their upcoming feature film The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. A sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the film marks the introduction to the series of longtime mascot character Yoshi:
Directed by Aaron Horvath (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Teen Titans GO! To the Movies) and Michael Jelenic (The Super Mario Bros. Movie), The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is written by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2, Minions: The Rise of Gru, The Super Mario Bros. Movie) and features returning cast members Chris Pratt (Mario), Charlie Day (Luigi), Anna Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad) and Jack Black (Bowser) alongside new additions Brie Larson (Rosalina) and Benny Safdie (Bowser Jr.).
The new clip follows the film’s first official trailer, released November of last year:
While this marks Yoshi’s first unshelled appearance in the current Super Mario film universe, Skwigly feels that it is important to remind the world that the beloved dinosaur’s big-screen debut came in 1993’s ill-fated Super Mario Bros. feature film adaptation, wherein he tries to eat the posh lady off of Killing Eve, who in turn stabs him in the neck.

Super Mario Bros. (1993) – a jewel in the crown of cinema
It’s highly likely this new film will be better.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie plays in UK theatres from April 1st 2026
