…And the Animated Duo Make their iTunes debut in time for the Summer Holidays

Sarah & Duck, Karrot Entertainment’s charming 2D animated series about a girl with big eyes and a green hat and her flappy, quacky best friend Duck, is back on CBeebies with ten brand new episodes from Monday 12th August 2013.

With the voice of the narrator provided by The Thick of It’s Roger Allam and Downton Abbey star Lesley Nicol breathing life into the Scarf Lady, Sarah & Duck follows the delightfully-drawn duo as they embark on a series of simple but exciting adventures, exploring the world in their own imaginative, quirky way. From shopping for shoes to learning to bobsleigh, Sarah & Duck are as inseparable as ever as, together, they learn about the world around them.

And Sarah & Duck fans young and old will be thrilled to learn that the colourful couple’s first set of adventures will be available to buy on iTunes from Monday 5th August.  The first 10 episodes of the series, shown on CBeebies earlier in the year, will be available to download so that they can be enjoyed by Sarah & Duck fans on the move over the summer holidays

The ten delightfully diverse new episodes on CBeebies follow on from the hugely successful debut of the series on the channel earlier this year.  Sarah & Duck regularly outperformed the average figure for the time slot and topped the iPlayer charts. And half a million viewers tuned in to see one single episode in March.

“We are thrilled that our wonderful characters have caused such a splash in their first year,” says producer and Karrot Entertainment co-founder Jamie Badminton.  “Sarah & Duck has been created and made with a great deal of love and care and we’re delighted that viewers young and old have responded to them with such warmth and in such numbers”.

In addition to the on screen success Sarah & Duck is also flying high on the licensing front with a DVD from BBC Worldwide, plush toys with PoshPaws and a series of Picture Books with Puffin, all set to roll out early 2014.
