Held in Jane Austen’s splendid Georgian city of Bath, England, the Jane Austen International Film Festival is a celebration of short-form independent filmmaking with ambitious programming, creating enriching screening experiences for filmmakers and film-goers alike.

The festivals aim is to provide not only a memorable cinematic experience for audiences but also an enriching festival event for independent filmmakers. We are looking for the most exciting and innovative storytelling in different genres, films that challenge and inspire audiences. Our festival is more than just a screening space, it is an opportunity to meet like-minded people and help bridge the gap between audiences and film creators.
We guarantee your films will viewed in their entirety by multiple judges who are upstanding industry professionals.
Selected film are screened on the big screen in the cinema where you will walk the red carpet.

The Film Festival dates are; 15th, 16th & 17th September, 2022 at the Little Theatre Arthouse cinema in the centre of Bath, (the festival may be shortened due to Covid-19 as happened in 2021). Guests are encouraged to wear Regency costume or elegant evening attire!

We have a strong animation category which we are very proud of. We are delighted to once again have an Aardman Animator on the judges pannel; Andy Symanowski. Other judges include: David Parfitt, Iian Smith, Rebecca Tranter and Francisco Bassignana.
