VIEW Conference Announces First Speakers Confirmed for 2022

VIEW Conference 2022 is proud to unveil the first group of speakers confirmed for this year’s event. The 23rd edition of Italy’s premiere animation, VFX, games and computer graphics conference, will take place from October 16 to 21 in the stunning baroque city of Torino, Italy, and online. Registration is now open.

This year, a majority of speakers will attend the conference in person, and we heartedly encourage industry professionals, students and enthusiasts to attend VIEW Conference 2022 in person as well. VIEW Conference 2022’s lively program of talks, presentations, workshops and masterclasses guarantees an exciting event, and the venue, Torino’s futuristic OGR, promisesa vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. VIEW Conference 2022attendees will have an opportunity to meet leading filmmakers, artists and visionary thinkers for an inspiring exchange of ideas and experiences whether on-site or online. Online access to this English language event enables a global audience to enjoy the entire event via exclusive livestream.

Two highlights for VIEW Conference 2022 include a special summit on the Metaverse and a focused conference track on the ground breaking field of virtual production. 

From the world of animation, VIEW Conference is delighted to welcome Ramsey Naito, president of Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount Animation and producer of “The Boss Baby.” Joining her are Oscar-winning producer Roy Conli presenting Disney’s upcoming animated feature “Strange World,” and Oscar-winning director Peter Ramsey, talking about the Netflix animated series “Lost Ollie” together with creator Shannon Tindle. Director Rob Minkoff (The Lion King and Mr. Peabody and Sherman) and executive producer Alex Schwartz (Mr. Peabody and Sherman and The Addams Family) present Paramount Pictures’ “Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank.” Also speaking is Kris Pearn, director of “The Willoughbys” and “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.”

VIEW Conference 2022 also welcomes visionary thinkers Marc Petit, vice president and general manager of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, and Paul Debevec, director of research, creative algorithms and technology at Netflix. Also on board are Pixar’s chief technology officer Steve May, interactive storytelling specialist Eloi Champagne who will unveil his work as technical director at the National Film Board of Canada, and Dylan Sisson, a creative pioneer behind Pixar’s RenderMan.

Game developer Jan-Bart van Beek, studio director of Guerilla Games, will showcase “Horizon Forbidden West,” the critically acclaimed action role-playing game from Sony Interactive Entertainment. And, Insomniac Games lead animator Kevin Grow will present “Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart,” the award-winning game developed for Sony’s Playstation 5. 

Presenting cutting-edge innovations in visual effects and virtual production are Rob Bredow, senior vice president and chief creative officer of Industrial Light & Magic and Ben Morris, Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor and creative director of ILM London. ILM London’s latest work includes the groundbreaking “ABBA The Concert” featuring photo-real “ABBA-tars” performing live in a specially-built UK venue. 

HBO’s Janet Muswell Hamilton, senior vice president of visual effects, and Jay Worth, visual effects supervisor, will discuss the extraordinary imagery in HBO’s sci-fi series “Westworld.” And, Pixar Animation Studio’s visual effects supervisor Danielle Feinberg and simulation and tailoring supervisor Fran Kalal will talk respectively about their work on “Turning Red” and “Lightyear.”
