London, Thursday 12th May – Baby Cow Animation launch 26 all new episodes of it’s pre-school series for CBeebies, Wussywat the Clumsy Cat, a mindset inspired romp about a little cat that falls over a lot and learns from his mistakes.

Narrated by broadcaster extraordinaire, Liza Tarbuck, the energetic Morwenna Banks voices the star, Wussywat, while Rasmus Hardiker plays the mischievous sidekick, Duckadile and Marc Wootton the bossy west-country blackbird, Ird.

As we’ve come to expect from Baby Cow, comedy is at the fore and Wussywat’s clumsy, slapstick antics trail a riddle of problems to solve, putting our hero very much at the centre of his little garden world trying to figure stuff out. You only learn if you try, after all, and Wussywat tries not once, not twice but three times before he clumsily figures things out with a little help from his outdoor friends.

Sarah Legg, the show’s Programme Executive for CBeebies, says:

“We’re delighted to have more brand new episodes of Wussywat’s clumsy learning adventures on the channel to keep our youngest viewers amused and inspired.”

Steve Coogan, Co-Founder and Director of Baby Cow, says:

“Baby Cow are extremely proud of Wussywat. Beautiful animation, charming and witty – a positive delight for 5 year olds!”

Wussywat the Clumsy Cat is a UK/Canada co-production for CBeebies between BAFTA award-winning combo Baby Cow Animation, Bigfatstudio and Smiley Guy Studios, Toronto. Worldwide distribution is by Aardman Animations who have already sold the series to over 70 countries.  Childhood friends and co-creators Simon Quinn (producer) and Simon Rolph (writer) enlisted Tom Edgar to direct the series while Jo Kiddie’s beautiful and distinctive designs provide the visual inspiration.

Baby Cow Animation has also teamed up with London based interactive games developers Playerthree to produce a series of integrated learn and play apps. The first, entitled Wussywat Garden Games, has a suite of five games. There is also a second free app entitled Irdy Bird.

All new episodes launch on CBeebies on Monday 16th May at 9.25 am and again at 1.25 pm. It will continue to show weekdays at these times and will also be available on BBC iPlayer and Kids iPlayer.
