Intimate Animation: Anna Ginsburg (‘Private Parts’)

// Women in Animation

ia2_600After a warm response to its first episode last month, Skwigly are proud to bring you episode 2 of Intimate Animation, our new podcast series where we explore, discuss and interview the talents behind animations (old and new) that deal with themes of love, relationships and sexuality.

In episode 2 we meet award-winning, London-based filmmaker Anna Ginsburg, whose mixed-media work includes the DepicT! winner Living With Depression, music videos, tour visuals as well as work on the high profile John Lewis 2013 seasonal spot The Bear and the Hare. Here we discuss her recent film Private Parts, produced in collaboration with It’s Nice That for Channel 4’s Random Acts. The film marries recorded musings on female sexuality as perceived by the general public, married with striking animation from Anna and a team of contributors including Will Anderson, Mark Prendergast, Peter Millard, George Wheeler, Loup Blaster and Moth Collective.

Festivalgoers can catch the film on the big screen next week at this year’s Encounters Festival in Bristol as well as the esteemed Ottawa International Animation Festival in Canada.
