Watch: “Weather The Storm” by Radish Pictures for Benjamin Scheuer

// News

Radish Pictures, the animation company headed by Peter Baynton have today released the music video for Weather The Storm, Baynton’s third video for musician Benjamin Scheuer following on from The Lion and Cookie Tin Banjo. The trio of films demonstrate three different design styles to accompany the music of Schueuer, with the latest offering a sentimental watercolour style placing a full bodied character in an isolated cubist world to tell the story of a lonely widower “Dickie” coming to terms with the recent loss of his wife. Watch the video below.

Director Peter Baynton has a clear connection to the music of Scheuer which he embodied beautifully in the video, noting of the development.

The song contains a theme and a message that is universal. Initially we thought we’d tell the story through three very different characters, but during the months of storyboarding Benjamin and I fell in love with the personality embodied in Dickie, the old fellow who is now our hero.

The film was produced by TRUNK Animation and recently won the public choice for Best Music Video at the British Animation Awards. TRUNK exec producer Richard Barnet said.

Working with Peter and Benjamin has been a wonderful experience. All of us at Trunk are delighted with this beautiful uplifting video that superbly interplays humour with pathos

Peter Baynton was recently the guest at Skwigly’s This Is Not A Cartoon screenings in Derby, for future screenings and guests check out the website. See a gallery of screenshots from the music video below and the full credits below that.
