From The Most Exquisite Man To The Wind Whisperer | CRAFT Animation Festival, Indonesia, Presents Official Selection

Like every two years, we will take our audience and the Jury on the most diverse, colorful and exciting animation journey. 46 animated movies (18 students and 34 professionals) in the INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION and 11 in the SHORTS FOR KIDS COMPETITION the films were selected by our core team (Chonie Prysilia, Piotr Kardas, Hizkia Subiyantoro) for the 4th International CRAFT Animation Festival in Malang, West Indonesia – the only festival in all of Asia focusing on a classic, physical approach to the art of animated films; stop-motion, traditional, craftsmanship scenography and puppets, charcoal drawings, materialistic cut-outs, skillful use of paint or sand – this is our universe. But because we love diversity, we also appreciate digital craftsmanship. Therefore, we are pleased to welcome 4 digital films in the non-competitive program SOUTH-EASTERN ASIA FOR KIDS and as many as 17 films in the DIGITAL WORLD PANORAMA.
International Competitions and Panorama are only part of the CRAFT Festival. Equally important is the SEA COMPETITION, during which this year we will present 12 great films (6 student and 6 professional). The SEA COMPETITION is unique for CRAFT because it is the only one in the world dedicated to animated films from Southeast Asia. Therefore, all animation techniques are included in the competition.
The 4th CRAFT International Animation Festival will be held for the first time in Malang, East Java, from October 23-28, 2023.
