Jane Austen International Film Festival Announce Animation Selection

Held in Jane Austen’s splendid Georgian city of Bath, England, the Jane Austen International Film Festival is a celebration of short-form independent filmmaking with ambitious programming, creating enriching screening experiences for filmmakers and film-goers alike.

The 2020 jury have chosen an excellent variety of films in categories ranging from animation, documentary, drama, through to music videos. This year’s judges include;

  • David Parfitt an independent film, television and theatre producer from Trademark Films
  • Will Becher an animator and director from Aardman Animations
  • Francisco Bassignana a film producer, actor and director of Krakovia Producciones, Chile
  • Neil Taylor, a guitarist, singer and songwriter with over 30 years of experience in the music industry

Animation Selection

  • Taking Fright – Directors Phillip Kieffer, Noah Miller (US)
  • Shadowland – Director bellopropello (Switzerland)
  • More Than Just a Square – Director CHINGYU YANG (Taiwan)
  • Postage and Panicking   – Directors Darya Kruglyakova, James Paradise (UK)
  • Living in a Free Fall – Director Karleener (FRANCE)
  • Mythology Planet – Director Tyrell Latchman (UK)

The festival takes place on 16th September at the Little Theatre arthouse cinema in the centre of Bath, between 11am to 2pm. The awards will be anounced following the screenings at 2-3pm.

Seats are limited due to Covid restrictions, and face masks must be worn at all times. Guests are encouraged to wear Regency costume or elegant evening attire!
