Lusitania Sets off on its 7th Voyage Across the Vast Ocean of Animated Documentaries
After watching a record-breaking 716 submissions from almost 100 countries, we are proud to announce the selection results and passenger list for the seventh cinematic voyage of the Lusitania.
Ultimately, 49 “cinematic passengers” from 27 countries will sail on this unique cruise: 18 in the professional cabin, 12 in the student cabin, and 10 in the most mysterious, sometimes scary, and occasionally playful one – MOCK<anima>DOC cabin. Moreover, 9 movies will be presented in the non-competitive PANORAMIC VIEW FROM THE COMMAND DECK program.
As every year, a 3-person Professional Jury (Małgorza Bosek-Serafińska, Katarzyna Dąbkowska, and Radosław Łabarzewski, so traditionally a mix of animation and documentary) and a 3-person Student Jury (Hanna Tkachova, Ida Woźniak) will sit on the captain’s bridge and choose the films they find most interesting. As always, the choice won’t be easy! And of course, the Audience will also take part in these unique film cruises on the Promenade Deck of the alternative art club UV and make their own choices.
The 7th RISING OF LUSITANIA will retake place in ŁÓDŹ (the city name in Polish means BOAT), on three Sundays of September (07, 14, 21), with the end of the cruise on October 12th, when a special PANORAMIC VIEW FROM THE COMMAND DECK will be presented, and a Spanish feature documentary with animated excerpts – PALOMA NEGRA: THE QUEEN OF AMPHETAMINES – will have European premiere!
