Chichester International Film Festival will this month be the first event to host the I’M FINE! programme – a screening of 13 animated shorts that reflect on emotional burnout from some of the best independent animation creators.

As a collaboration between Skwigly and Ukraine's LINOLEUM festival, I'M FINE! is a project that focuses on the ways to maintain mental health and stay motivated and productive in a world that changes every minute.

The 75-minute programme will be followed by a 20-minute Q&A with the filmmakers, and will take place Saturday 27th August 2022 at 1pm at Chichester Cinema Studios.

Netflix have today released a new teaser trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s stop-motion reimagining of Pinocchio. Drawing on the classic Carlo Collodi tale, the musical adventure is set during the rise of Fascism in Mussolini’s Italy and tells “a story of love and disobedience as Pinocchio struggles to live up to his father’s expectations”.

A new era for the world’s biggest animated band Gorillaz is marked by a trippy music video directed by Gorillaz co-founder Jamie Hewlett and Nexus Studios’ Fx Goby. Originally based at Kong Studios in West London, the group of musical misfits have relocated to Silverlake, California as they recruit new members to join ‘The Last Cult’, in search of the one truth to fix the world.

Having previously appeared on the Skwigly Animation Podcast to discuss her work as head of the Cardiff Animation Festival and its associated Cardiff Animation Nights screening events as well as her work as an animation director, Lauren joins Animation One-To-Ones to talk about the ways in which she has steered both CAF and her animation studio Picl in a more eco-conscious direction while also actively researching practical and practicable solutions for combating the increasingly concerning realities of climate change.
