Happy 40th Birthday Aardman!
Today is the official birthday for one of England’s biggest and most beloved animation studios. Four decades in and the breathtaking array of work from these master-craftsmen (and women) have created is simply tremendous. We at Skwigly will be spending the next week celebrating all the different facets of the studio for #AardmanWeek. Today we simply want to wish the team at the studio all the best and raise a glass to all their accomplishment to date – and to come! Here are some of the things the studio has shared with the public today. They really are too kind!
A special exclusive piece of Creature Comfort-styled animation especially for their birthday, with a nod to the charm and humour we’ve come to expect of the award-winning studio:
They’ve also teamed up with iTunes to provide a special birthday bundle including the cracking Aardman documentary A Grand Night In, plus a selection of other iconic films from their archive.
As well as this there is a whole host of special 40th anniversary merchandise including stamp collections created by the Isle of Man, a run of Shaun and Gromit official stuffed toys and a unique Art of Aardman book that tours the archive of the Aardman vault. There will even be a Aardman exhibition later in the month at The Illustration Cupboard in London.
