What is the film about?

Nothing beats a lovely day at a gastropub.

What influenced it?

I like quick and dirty animation which tells the story as economically as possible. Hence, Matús Vizar’s “Pandas”, most Bill Plympton stuff. Silent films, as well, where the storytelling is stripped down to the physicality. Robert Findlay’s “Change Return”, Trevor Jiminez’s “Weekends”. That kind of stuff.

A little background information...

I was working a job which thankfully afforded me plenty of free time. I needed to animate SOMETHING to make sure I still knew how to animate! Day at Gastropub seemed like fun.

How was the film made?

TVPaint! I’m a huge TVPaint advocate. I paid £30 or so for the various stock music and otherwise made it myself.
